On Tuesday, Oct 27, 2026, Leon McLaughlin met with engineering students at Seattle University about their participation with he AI powered Water filters to kick off the project!
Many thanks to Ashley Mila a student at Universidad Centroamericana José Simeón Cañas (UCA) in El Salvador is.in who delivered the following letter from Leon to the Dean’s office in El Salvador inviting their engineering students to join as well:
“Dear Friends and Colleagues,
On behalf of the Clean Water Foundation, I am writing to formally invite your esteemed technical school to join our groundbreaking international capstone initiative in partnership with Seattle University and Airline Ambassadors International.
As organizations dedicated to sustainable development, global health, and youth empowerment, we are uniting young innovators across borders to tackle critical real-world challenges.
Currently, engineering students at Seattle University are designing and building state-of-the-art, AI-powered water purification units equipped with advanced sensor technology (monitoring pressure, flow rate, turbidity, and RGB parameters) to deliver clean drinking water to vulnerable communities worldwide.
We see an incredible opportunity to bridge our work in the United States and Venezuela with the exceptional technical talent in El Salvador.
By joining this coalition, your students will collaborate directly with peers and mentors on cutting-edge IoT and water purification systems, sharing knowledge, cultural perspectives, and technical expertise on a global stage.
You can review our ongoing project details and framework here: https://airlineamb.org/draft-
We would be honored to have El Salvador’s bright technical minds help shape the future of this project. Together, we can use technology, education, and collaboration to create lasting change.
Please let us know how we can coordinate our next steps to bring your students on board. We look forward to a powerful and inspiring partnership!
With deep respect and enthusiasm,
Sincerely,
Léon McLaughlin
Chief Executive Officer and President
