“We have genuinely exciting news to share this month, and it starts with a moment we’ve been waiting for since the spring.
On September 28th, two more young mothers and their unborn babies officially moved into House of Life’s Mama & Baby Shelter. Doors opened. Beds were made. Our tía’s (aunts) and moms welcomed two new families into a home that, for them, had only ever existed as a hope and dream until that day.
We want you to understand what this actually means, beyond the milestone. A young mother arriving here doesn’t just get a bed. She gets people who will learn her story without flinching from it, who will hold her baby so she can rest, who will walk with her through fear until it starts to look more like hope. We’ve watched this happen again and again over the years: girls who arrived unsure if they’d ever trust anyone again, are now raising children of their own with a steadiness they had to learn here first. That’s what’s beginning for these two girls and their babies right now. We don’t know their whole stories yet, but we know what this house does, and we believe it with everything in us.
This is shaping up to be one of the biggest months in House of Life’s history, and we fully mean that. There’s more we’re preparing to share with you in just a few days, something about how House of Life presents itself to the world, almost forty years in the making. We’ve been the same family since 1989, across three homes, through more growth than we ever could have planned for on our own. Soon, you’ll see that reflected in a new way. We’ll have much more to say very soon, and we didn’t want you to hear it from anywhere but us.
And there’s one more piece of exciting news we can’t wait to share with you!
Over the years, we’ve witnessed God work in incredible ways through this ministry. Last year, one of those unexpected blessings came when we had the opportunity to meet an amazing team from Angel Studios. What began as a casual day at the beach, spending time with the children and a visiting mission team, turned into an unexpected encounter that would lead to something far greater than we could have imagined.
