Our team visited last year Here is the link and it was so amazing to visit again today, The people are so beautiful 55 elders have been abandoned by their familes and this home gets little support. The visit was coordinated by Suzy Gonzalez of the Colegio Maya in El Salvador – She identified 10 7th graders who were clearly the stars of the show!
The young people interviewed each of the 55 elders and at first everyone was a bit shy, but in the end everyone was deeply moved.
These elders have been abanandoned by their family and freinds and our visit meant so much to them
Because of privacy issues for the kids, we are not allowed to show the kids interacting with the elders but a few pics are below of our visit.
We were honored to have Olga Bukele and Yamille Bukele (the President’s mother and sister) join us. We provided some sweet treats and juice for all and and they were very grateful.
Lisselot Troconis of Gente Ayudando Gente aslo visited and is commited to help these wonderful elders! Angels of Hope, (our colleagues in Florida) are also fundraising for this project and had provided letters from kids in Michigan and the studenta are translating the letters and helping to get responses to the kids in Michican.
See these other pictures below which tell the story:
