My name is June Huang, and I am the Chairwoman of Airline Ambassadors International.

AAI is a humanitarian nonprofit that mobilizes compassionate travelers and our global airline network to bring relief, dignity, and opportunity to vulnerable children and families around the world. Today, I’m here to speak about something simple – yet life-defining: clean water.

● AAI overview:
Around the world, and even within the U.S., too many communities still live without reliable access to safe drinking water. For children, this is not only a health crisis – it is an education crisis, an economic crisis, and a crisis of basic human need.  That is why our clean water work directly supports Sustainable Development Goal 6: Clean Water and Sanitation – ensuring the availability and sustainable management of water for all.

At AAI, we believe clean water solutions must be practical, scalable, and community-centered.  Through partnerships, we help deliver water purification systems and filtration support to communities where water safety cannot be taken for granted. What makes Airline Ambassadors International unique is that we leverage the power of the airline industry – mobilizing
compassionate travel professionals and global networks to move aid, especially for children and vulnerable families.

One example is our initiative to help bring clean water to the Hopi and Navajo communities, where  families have faced toxic contamination in their water supply. In many cases, households must travel  hours just to obtain safe water – while others are left with no choice but to use polluted water in daily life.

Our message is clear: safe water is not a privilege. It is a foundation for life.

We had an amazing time  with the elders from Zaragosa Home on Dec 3, 2025! They rarely get to leave an it was fun to join at States Diner.  (We wanted to do it there as they help so many charities.)   Thank you to the ADDN for providing the buses and  especially Leonor Correa, Laura Corpeno and Jeanette G.  Chema Luceno and Joaquin provided individual lovely presents for each man and womatn at the Home  which were delivered by Santa himself!  (sponsored by Mauricio and Diego pf the Floracin Foundation).  Rhawney Zubko provided a $1000 check from her husband which will be deposited soon! Julie Botarri ( mother of Giuliana – who visited there in in August ) provided two delicous cakes  and a boxful of vitamins for the Home which were gratefully received!    We are still raising money to provide for an industrial washing machine for the home . 1.  House of Life Mama and Baby Shelter – El Salvador

Summary:

Life for many Salvadoran girls can be fraught with sexual violence by family members and the problem is little talked about. The House of Life Mama and Baby Shelter will be a safe haven where 30 pregnant, abused teens can heal, have healthy babies and learn how to bond and care for their babies, and about their human right to live in an abuse-free environment. ThIs will be the first such shelter in the country as there is currently no adequate place to send pregnant teens in El Salvador.

Clean Water

2. Clean Water for Hopi and Navajo – United States

Summary:

Clean water is the basis of LIFE. Yet, those living in Hopiland have only TOXIC water to drink, cook, bathe, garden, and maintain livestock with! Their water is over TWICE the EPA limit for ARSENIC and other chemicals. This project will provide filters and safe drinking water for families in three Hopi Villages impacting 20,000 people for one year. Please HELP! No one should have to die because they are thirsty!

3. Conservation – Protecting Sea Turtles 

Summary:

We have been protecting baby sea turtles on the beaches of Barra de Santiago, El Salvdor for the last 5 years.  So far in 2025 we have released 2,300  baby sea turles back into the sea!  50 fishermen are voluntering their time after we lost government funding.

4. Share the Love

Summary:

Airline Ambassadors makes a long term commitment to projects around the world.  One result of our projects is ongoing educational sponsorship’s for children we know and love!  Write your child’s name or country in the in the donors scroll!You can choose to sponsor monthly, make an annual contribution ($420) or a group of 4 can sponsor for a one time donation of $105 each.  This funding provides food, shoes and educational fees and uniforms.  Cheryl Robinson runs this Sponsorship program, for children in four locations. 5. Zaragosa Home for Abandoned Elders    – El Salvador

Summary:

Hogar Giuseppe Angelucci in Zaragosa, El Salvador is a home for abandoned older people – those who have been left on the streets and have no family. The facility has 30 beds, but police drop off people regularly and now there are 47 people! Dilapidated couches line the main room, regular cleaning is needed as well as a new refrigerator, freezer, fans, pans, bedding and a few TV’s. Residents are provided with two meals a day and a medical team comes regularly, but this home is in dire need.

6.   Culinary sponsorships – El Salvador

Summary:

This project will provide culinary scholarships for young people in high risk conditions, in order for them to have better job possibilities that directly impact their lives. The young people participating in this program live though various scenarios as surviving cancer, orphanage and taking care of their brothers, immigration problems, teen pregnancy. Funds raised will provide scholarships for young people to be funded to attend the Gente Ayudando Gente Cooking School.

7. Nutritious foods for Students – Sierra Leone

Summary:

Over 400 students, (ages 5-14) who attend Diamond Child School (est. 2005) are at risk of dropping out if they aren’t guaranteed a balanced meal daily; for most, the only nutritious meal received in any given week. A healthy diet that includes vegetables and fruit boosts the immune system of these vulnerable “Diamonds”, especially during this lingering Covid-19 pandemic. A nutritious meal is key to helping students listen, focus, learn and stay healthy, while staying in school!

Today, our home cares for 17 children, ages 5 to 18. Alongside providing shelter and care, we educate and guide our children to become pivotal contributors who rebuild their nation with integrity, compassion, and purpose, rooted in an ethical framework and principled leadership.
Because of the ongoing crisis and rising food prices caused by gang violence, providing nutritious meals daily has become increasingly difficult. Yet, our children continue to smile, study, and dream of a better future.  We are grateful for partners who care about our children’s wellbeing. With your support, we can continue feeding, educating, and nurturing these beautiful children, one smile at a time.

The Director of the orphanage lost her brother in the earthquake of 2010 while working as a flight attendant for American Eagle!

The importance of sea turtles on our beaches beaches are a refuge not only for humans but also for a rich biodiversity that includes majestic sea turtles. These creatures not only amaze us with their beauty, but they also play a crucial role in the balance of the marine ecosystem. Below, we will explore the species of turtles that visit and nest on our shores, as well as their habits. Excessive proliferation of jellyfish can negatively affect other marine organisms.

The Olive Ridley sea turtle is best known for its diet based primarily on jellyfish. By feeding on them you not only maintain your own health, but also help control jellyfish populations in the ocean. This balance is essential, since an excessive proliferation of jellyfish can negatively affect other marine organisms. Thus, the olive ridley sea turtle becomes a natural ally in the regulation of this ecosystem.

The Brown sea turtle plays an equally important role in the health of our oceans. Their diet focuses on seagrass, which helps regulate seaweed populations. By keeping these populations in balance, brown turtles promote the health of coastal ecosystems, which are vital for many other marine species.

The Hawksbill turtle is also known for its varied diet, which includes both seaweed and jellyfish.  Their “pruning” behavior of these populations contributes to maintaining the health of the seabed. By controlling the overgrowth of  algae and jellyfish, hawksbill turtles help ensure that other organisms can thrive in their habitat.

Finally, the Leatherback Sea turtle not only feeds on sea sponges and jellyfish, but also plays a crucial role in transporting nutrients and removing san don beaches.  This process helps maintain the structure and health of the beaches favoring marine life and coastal vegetation.

A call to protect the nation of El Salvador’s treasures. 

Sea turtles are true treasures of our coastal ecosystems.

However, they face numerous threats, such as habitat loss, pollution and illegal fishing. It is essential that we become aware of their importance and work together to protect these magnificent creatures and their habitats. By preserving sea turtles and the beaches where they nest, we not only protect these species, but also ensure a healthier future for our oceans and the well-being of the communities that depend on them.

Let’s take care of our turtles and our beaches!

Lori Morrison visited Hogar Andalucci – the home for Abandoned Elders and saw the need.  When told the freezer was bare, she took matters in to her own hands and decied to fill the need, and in late October delivered 40 chickens, 100 lbs of corn meal and 500 vanilla muffins,  The residents were thrilled!

Lori delivered the following products the next week!

Dairy products, Beans, PPampers L ,XL. Diinfectant, Suavitel, Detergent

DIAMOND CHILD SCHOOL OF ART & CULTURE –

Septemer  the Diamond School for Arts ad Culture will recive 200 more boys and girls! 

 but becauss of your ongoing donations the students will receive a nutrious meal each Day!

In Sierra Leone there is an economic criss making things so difificult for parents.

This project was started by Anthony Seydu, a native of Sierra Leone and celebrated muscian.

Summer report.:

Summertime means major cleaning-up time, at Diamond Child.  Our dedicated volunteers, primarily teaching staff, have been very busy this summer, dodging those treacherous rainy days.  The rainy season is coming to its end however, which is greatly welcomed.  Cleaning up the center, getting ready for the fall term, includes painting, fixing any needed desks and chairs and especially sewing new school uniforms.  This task is a joint effort of our trained staff who offer vocational training classes throughout the year in this discipline.  Some of our top students put into practice their talent, by cutting, designing, and sewing new kits for their companions.  This very practical exercise reinforces their confidence in applying their skills to later assist their families in bringing home some income. This is a traditional means of “dressing” most family members. Purchasing new clothes at a shop is unheard of for most families in our community.

Other noteworthy news includes celebrating the passing of 93 % of our students (56 of 60) who sat for the NPSE exams (national secondary level entrance exams).  Results were published just last month. Another highlight includes the forming of a chapter of Boy Scouts (Sierra Leone Scouts Association) at Diamond Child School. We honor and mirror this prestigious international association by sharing many of the same values, which include being friendly, helpful, trustworthy, loyal, etc. Diamond Child is proud to announce that at present there are some 15 Boy Scouts at our school. NOTE: our chapter does and will include girls as well this fall season.

We’re ready to stimulate our 518 enrolled students for 2025-2026. Back to the books on September 10th. As a team we constantly look to motivate our “Diamonds” to continue developing a passion for learning (and sharing!).

The elders were overjoyed! She also provided pizza and cokes and we had a fun party for all 44 residents! Everyone had a great time!

There are very few elderly homes in El Salvador.  This home is in dire need.  They only have water 2 days a week and  have need of food, clothing a dryer, etc. The water bill Carolina showed us the bill of over  $5,000!  There is no way they can pay that and help is needed!

Giuliana arrived with her mom Julia.  Maurico and Diego Villeda supported the effort and Elizabeth and Tony Barrett, Nelson Bonilla, Patricia Bukele, Suzy, Gonzalez, Lori Morrison and Nancy Rivard participated. Lori shared  needs assesment. “Thank you for inviting me, it was a heartfelt experience. Giuliana you rock! I had a chance to talk with the staff there and here are their needs in order of priority: 1.) A dryer for their clothing and bedding 2.) Food, other than beans and rice. They rarely get animal protein so eggs, chicken, meats, dairy etc. (they have a freezer but it is empty! 3. Clothing

A women’s shelter, a school, an orphanage and an early childhood development centre will be among the recipients of nutrient-dense food bars distributed by E2G FOOD (E2G) in honour of Mandela Day.  Included in the recipients were two of Airline Ambassadors orphanages – Maria’s Home and Sinethemba House!

E2G, a social enterprise that fights hunger worldwide, has partnered with United Way South Africa (UWSA) to deliver spirulina food bars to communities in SA throughout July. E2G produces these high-­protein, immunity-boosting bars packed with minerals and vitamins that are designed for communities with limited access to nutritious food.m

The director of UWSA, Queen Mokonoto, says 500 to 800 youth in Diepsloot, Johannesburg, will be among the first recipients of these food bars. They will be distributed on a day that will also feature discussions about challenges the youth face, such as hunger, unemployment and finding ways to earn an income.

“One of the pillars of UWSA is education,” said Mokonoto. “So with our youth empowerment we have a lot of entrepreneurial programmes, educational programmes. We’ll be talking about how to apply for jobs, create CVs, look for employment, as well as how they can become entrepreneurs.”

The global Mandela Day campaign encourages people to spend 67 minutes of their time to support a chosen charity or serve in their local community. The 67 years represent the number of years that Madiba spent in public service. 

Nancy Rivard, founder of AAI, is ecstatic about the concept and involving youth worldwide in the effort.   “Young people can get a feeling of what it feels like to bring Love into Action, without having to travel to each country when they donate (each bar is onl $2.00) and then  each donor gets pictures of the joyful recipents on their phones using the app.”
