AAI’s Cheryl Robinson has leading missions to South Africa and the Philippines for quite a while. And on those missions she has taken beautiful, colorful dresses made by a very special “angel”: Anita Huizenga!
About ten years ago, Anita joined a neighbor in sewing dresses for a project called “Dress a Girl Around the World”. Anita helped her neighbor sew 50 dresses in honor of her 50th birthday.
Anita didn’t stop there…she continued sewing and to date has made over 2000 dresses, many of which have been taken around the world by Cheryl to gift to the girls in our projects.
The dresses are happy, colorful and fun. They each have two pockets — one is filled with a cute bracelet, the other with underwear.
Anita’s husband Robert has been a great help delivering the dresses to the airport or to Cheryl before she leaves on her missions. Cheryl will be taking more dresses with her on her next mission to S. Africa in April. Maybe you can join in to help deliver these beautiful creations and see the “fashion show” in person!
AAI sends a HUGE Thank You to Anita for her generous spirit and extraordinary sewing talents!
