“When Thomas Banyaca delivered the Hopi Prophecy at the United Nations, I had no idea we would get so involved in helping the Hopi and Navajo Nations get clean fresh drinking water and much much more. When I drove to the Hopi Reservation in 1982, Hopi spiritual elder, Grandfather David and myself joined a meeting with the Navajo on the toxicity of their water!” Nancy Rivard, Airline Ambassadors.
Airline Ambassadors is pleased to support Clean Water Foundation and together we have placed 307 water filters on the reservation, so far. Recently we partnered with the Navajo and Hopi Families Covid-19 Relief Fund who have provided regular distributions of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) which devastated both tribes.
In an unprecedented effort, Swedish & Providence Hospitals stepped up to provide PPE to Navajo Nation and Hopi Nations!
They provided 26 pallets of hand sanitizer and 27 pallets of masks – over 1 MILLION Masks to meet the need. Here are recent communications from both organizations about the effort:
Executive Summary
Many people around the world, and within the United States, suffer from a lack of clean water, PPE and other basic medical supplies.
The Navajo Nation holds a population of 500,000 people with the neighboring Hopi Nation consisting of another 100,000 people. The COVID-19 Relief Fund has been providing 6,000 COVID-19 kits to Navajo and Hopi families weekly for a year; however, they are running out of supplies by the end of May. COVID-19 cases are still wreaking havoc on this population where 70% live in poverty and quality medical care is scarce – so these supplies are pertinent to keeping the people safe.
Swedish and Providence have stepped in to help, and we are partnering with Airline Ambassadors, World Vision, Medline and The Clean Water Foundation in order to share PPE with the Navajo Nation and Hopi Nation.
During the week of May 17, 2021, Swedish and Providence are donating approximately 73,000 bottles of hand sanitizer and 1 million masks (estimated retail value of $300,000) to the Navajo Nation and Hopi Nation. World Vision is supplying transport of supplies from Washington (hand sanitizer) and California (masks) to a warehouse in Arizona where COVID-19 supplies are collected, sorted into kits and distributed to families.
Goal(s)
- Ensure the surplus medical supplies from both health care systems are donated to those in need.
- Gain recognition for the PPE donation.
- Share our Health for Good / Health is a Human Right messages – share our culture of giving and supporting those who are most vulnerable and in need.

The Need:
The Navajo Nation holds a population of 500,000 people, 46,000 of whom are students. The neighboring Hopi Nation consists of another 100,000 people. The COVID Relief Fund has been providing 6,000 COVID kits to Navajo and Hopi families weekly for a year and they are running out of supplies by end of May.
