Youtube video: Light for Communities
Airline Ambassadors is working with Clean Water Foundation and Oneworld Connections and Magical Tours Peru to provide water filters and solar lights and hospital supplies to the high Andes. Stay posted as soon we will post a mission trip to this amazing location!
PROJECT SUMMARY
Access to clean water and safe, clean light is a basic necessity for all living beings. Yet, those living in many communities in the Sacred Valley of Peru have access to neither! Their water is contaminated with parasites and viruses like giardia and salmonella. Lighting in their homes is from smoky, lung disease causing kerosene lanterns. This project will provide filters with safe drinking water and solar lanterns for families in six Andean communities, impacting over 2,500 people for one year See Updates below from June and July 2021

WHAT IS THE PROBLEM?
The Sacred Valley area of Peru is a remote area, located at up to 15,000 feet in altitude in the Andes Mountains. Many communities lack road access, resulting in inhabitants having no access to piped or treated potable water, sewer or electricity services from the government or private companies. Dirty drinking water creates chronic diarrhea and other health problems. Residents often use smoky kerosene lanterns which are not affordable and create severe lung problems for children and the elderly
HOW WILL THIS SOLVE THE PROBLEM?
With the distribution of the water filtration systems, the residents of these communities will be able to have potable water right in their homes and at the school.
The distribution of solar lanterns will bring clean, renewable light to their stone homes in the Andes!
LONG TERM IMPACT
By supplying clean water and clean light, the health and quality of life of these communities will improve immediately. With the availability of clean water and light, there is a lower risk of gastro-intestinal disease, lung disease, cancer, high blood pressure, and now Covid-19. All people deserve access to clean, life-giving water and light, and Project CLEAN in the Andes will help provide it. We need YOUR Help!
