Our team returned on May 25, 2023 to provide a birthday celebration at Zaragosa Home!
This month the team honored AAI’s Kate Jewell who made a donation and asked that funds be used to honor all the elders in May. What fun we had! Yamille Bukele provided the cakes and wonderful baloon decorations and Samantha Bukele provided the pupusas for all!
We were honored to even have Olga Bukele, join us (the President’s mom!)
A generous donor enabled Airlline Ambassadors to provide for needed repairs at the Home. Lisselot Troconis from Gente Ayudando Gente also paticipated and provided a new refrigerator, freezer and much more. .See this post. Both Lisselot and Helga participated as well and Helga provided a karoke machine for the “abuelos” to sing and enjoy from the Siman Foundation. See video at top!
See the pictures below and get a flavor for our event and the joy we brought these elders.
Yamille made three huge and delicious cakes and provided amazing decorations for the Home,
Suzy Gonzalez, Adminisrator of the Mayan School helped coordinate for 11 students and a teacher to participate once again and they were amazing
The students also delivered letters from the kids sponsorship program with Angels of Hope! And Lisselot Troconis checked on the repairs we began at the Home and translated prayers from Esmerelda, a very special and spiritual lady.
However the most wonderful miracle of this visit was after we introduced Juan Anchorena to one of our favorite elders – Maria…who is blind and just stays in her room as she cannot see. The room must be 100 degrees and she said she would like a fan for her birthday. Juan disappeared for about 15 minutes amd came back with brand new fan just for her to provide a cool breeze and fulfill her birthday wish! It was magical to see her face light up!
