It is such an honor to be acknowledged by the Love in Action Gala. I founded Airline Ambassadors for exactly that reason – To Bring Love into Action! I was a flight attendant and thousands of us from 12 airlines, began hand delivering humanitarian aid to vulnerable children worldwide on missions nearly every month.
We came to El Salvador in 2000 at the invitation of Armando Bukele Kattan who was then the President of Kiwanis. American Airlines had given us an airplane and we transported 30,000 lbs of gifts for orphans. Five days later a huge earthquake hit in Santa Tecla. We came right back down with a relief team…..and been working here ever since. Many of you don’t know but Prsident – Nayib Bukele helped us with our work on many of these efforts
Armando, shared that our work is about service and friendship too.
We have the most wonderful friends in el Salvador and many of you are here today. Thank you to so many of the Bukele family that are here and support our efforts. My husband Dave & myself are proud to be here to help in the re-birth of this amazing country.
I met Lisselot in 2004 and am happy for you to learn more about Gente Ayudando Gente. I think of her as the Mother Theresa of El Salvador and so will all of you, as you get to know this work. Many thanks to Jeff Cardwell of the sister organization People Helping People who have a huge group here from Indianapolis.
