Donna Hubbard is the daughter of the late author and Community Arts Activist Barbara “Nayo” Watkins and Charles “Charlie” Hubbard, graduates of Atlanta’s historic Booker T. Washington High School. Her mother Nayo took great pride in cultivating Donnas’ precocious, creative spirit. She graduated Valedictorian of Clara Muhammad High School in 1973. But life would not always be prestigious for Donna Hubbard.

She married while still in high school and is the proud mother of 7 beautiful children. Donna witnessed abuse and domestic violence in her impressionable years. She attended several colleges, married, and divorced. Her life then was a series of abandonment, abuse, addiction, gang crime, exploitation, prostitution and violence. She was sold to a pimp, trafficked, gang raped, and finally became gang property. Arrested more than a dozen times and finally sentenced to 2 concurrent 12-year sentences in federal prison she was waiting to be transferred to prison when she met Min. Lynnette Higgins who introduced her to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Her vision for the future was soon to be limited to a 9 X 11 concrete cell but still God had a greater plan and saw fit to save her from herself: On the filthy floor of the gymnasium in that jail she was delivered from a $1000 a-day crack addiction, chronic alcoholism, exploitation, prostitution and a life of sin. Knowing what awaited her if she were released, she accepted that prison would be her only escape. In 1998 the judge sentenced her to 2-12-year sentences. But prison is where Donna was finally set free and through Christ Jesus, she received eternal life. Donna’s commitment to serve God prompted her total and complete surrender to a greater destiny and purpose.

She completed her freshman studies through the University of Minnesota Extension Education Program while in prison. She transferred from Lexington Federal Correctional Institution in Lexington, KY to Alderson Federal Prison Camp in West Virginia.  While in Alderson she completed University of West Virginia Firemanship Training and served her last year as a Federal Firefighter. While in Lexington, Donna met R. & B legend Margaret Reynolds who saw a “diamond” in the rough and began the arduous task of convincing Donna she deserved better, and she could have it in Christ Jesus. Donna would finally realize, long sought after meaning for her life. Donna was paroled in 1993 to Atlanta, Georgia.

In 1994 she founded the Woman at the Well Transition Center: a non-profit ministry providing training, counseling, and direct services to formerly incarcerated women throughout the United States. In the first 3 years WATWTC ministry and residential center served over 4000 women. Today WATWTC offers programs that include Parenting from Prison, G.I.F.T. for Life – street intervention with trafficked girls and women, relapse prevention, reentry case management and employment readiness. Pastor Donna accepted her call to preach in 1995. After 5 years of seminary, she was ordained in 2000. Donna Hubbard is an original member of Revelation SEED Ministries Gospel Ensemble discovered and produced by the late legendary R & B artist Betty Wright. They received international recognition after 5 appearances on the Bobby Jones Gospel Television Show. Bishop Hubbard has authored and copyrighted 5 original curriculums. Since 2015 Donna has worked with Airline Ambassadors International as a Certified Human Trafficking Awareness Trainer and has facilitated trainings in Hungary, Latvia, Thailand, the Philippines, Colombia, Iceland, Japan, Switzerland, Kenya and Korea. She has facilitated Human Trafficking Awareness Trainings for 3 Super Bowls and co-facilitated the 75th training of airline and airport personnel in Atlanta, GA in January 2019 in preparation for Super Bowl LIII (53). Bishop Donna Hubbard is employed as a Flight Attendant for a major commercial airline, and through Woman At The Well Transition Center continues to assist formerly incarcerated women, and men to reenter mainstream society. She earned her BS in Theological Studies and her MS in Christian Counseling at PCIE Seminary Program, San Bernardino, CA. She is pursuing  her doctorate and Christian Counseling Certification.  She is the natural mother of 6 daughters and 1 son, 12 grandchildren and 10 great grand children. She is also the spiritual mother to several Pastors worldwide. In July 2021 Donna Hubbard was consecrated by Archbishop Q.S. Caldwell as the first woman Jurisdictional Bishop of Celebration of Praise Ministries Intl. Donna Hubbard is a sought-after conference speaker, certified workshop facilitator, dedicated mentor, and prolific preacher.

Her personal mantra is:

Luke 15:17 “…and one of them, when he saw he had been healed, turned back and with a loud voice, glorified God.”
