Bishnu Sapkota participated in several trainings this month. He is devoted to saving the poorest of the poor by focusing on workshops that teach Cross-border Trafficking (as the Nepal-India border is a very dangerous trafficking site).
Education is the key for women and children to learn the tricks of traffickers and save themselves from becoming slaves and prostitutes.
He has developed the RISE program to:
R-recognize risk factors
I – identify potential victims
S – share knowledge to potential victims
E – engage local efforts to minimize risk.
Bishnu Sapkota of Deep Nepal hasaldo been very busy distributing uniforms and educational material to the most vulnerable in the Parsa District of Nepal. These children are from single parent families who are extremely poor, making the children most at risk of being trafficked.
Deep Nepal also conducted a two-day training for grades 5 through 10 on minimizing the risk of trafficking by teaching children the ways traffickers work to trap them. This led to an invitation to provide a one day trafficking training in another district that focused on trafficking, sexual violence, sexual harassment, good touch, bad touch and more.
This training was covered by the media: Radio Birjang and A-News Television.
The most efficient way to save vulnerable children from trafficking is to educate them to be able to recognize the traps and avoid them. A recent very generous contribution will help us continue this important work. A very generous donaiton came itn this month from Kelly Hearn which will allow this work to contine. THANK YOU KELLY! Your help has made these trainings possible and will help provide future education that will include focusing on those children from the lowest castes.
Your continued donations will save the poorest of the poor from horrible fates such as slavery and prostitution.
Dhanyavad (Thank you) sincerely for your support.
