For over 16 years, Diakonos International, through its children’s house Kominote Ti Fanmi Nou de Diakonos in Carrefour, just outside Port-au-Prince, has been a loving home for more than 50 orphaned, abandoned, and financially disadvantaged children.
Today, our home cares for 17 children, ages 5 to 18. Alongside providing shelter and care, we educate and guide our children to become pivotal contributors who rebuild their nation with integrity, compassion, and purpose, rooted in an ethical framework and principled leadership.
Because of the ongoing crisis and rising food prices caused by gang violence, providing nutritious meals daily has become increasingly difficult. Yet, our children continue to smile, study, and dream of a better future. We are grateful for partners who care about our children’s wellbeing. With your support, we can continue feeding, educating, and nurturing these beautiful children, one smile at a time.

The Director of the orphanage lost her brother in the earthquake of 2010 while working as a flight attendant for American Eagle!
