January 2009:

American Airlines' flight attendant, William Rivera, escorted little Maria, age 5, home from Detroit to Tegucigalpa.  She had some serious surgery that has corrected her health problems and is now a very happy, healthy little girl.

William reports:

Maria is the cutest and most beautiful girl I have ever seen in my life. She was just the cutest and most wonderful child to escort - playful, polite, well behaved and active.

We had a great time. She picked up a lot of English here in the States and was calling me "Loco (crazy) monkey instead of William.

Everything went as planned and on time. The AA people in Tegucigalpa are fantastic, especially Yessica, who escorted us through immigration, helped us with her luggage, customs, and finally with meeting Maria's family. Then, she escorted me back to the airplane for my trip home. She was amazing and her service was exceptional.
